  • Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic massage is a type of massage aimed at treating specific health conditions or injuries, rather than simply promoting relaxation. Its goal is to alleviate pain, improve mobility and enhance overall wellness by targeting muscles, tendons and ligaments. The session is tailored to the individual's needs, making it versatile in addressing various health issues.

    Different techniques used include:

    deep tissue

    trigger point

    myofascial release

    swedish

    sports

    active, passive and PNF stretching.

  • Prenatal Massage

Prenatal massage is a specialized form of therapeutic massage tailored to the needs of pregnant women. Growing a baby is taxing to the body! This massage aims to promote relaxation, relieve common pregnancy discomforts and support the overall health and well-being of both the mother and baby.

Body positioning: Special care is taken to position the body comfortably. Usually, a side-lying position with supportive pillows is used to avoid putting pressure on the abdomen and ensure proper blood flow.

Safety considerations: Prenatal massage is generally considered safe for most women, especially after the first trimester, but it's always recommended to consult a healthcare provider before beginning massage therapy during pregnancy. It's also essential to work with a trained therapist who has experience in prenatal massage to ensure proper techniques and safety measures are followed.

If you are high risk please reach out beforehand so we can talk. I want to make sure you are in the best hands possible.

  • Sports Infused Table Thai

Traditional Thai massage is a healing practice that combines acupressure, Ayurvedic principles and assisted yoga postures. It is often referred to as "Thai yoga massage" because of the use of stretching techniques that align the body, improve flexibility and relieve tension.

Sports infused Thai is a dynamic blend of traditional Thai massage techniques and sports massage principles, designed to support athletic performance, recovery, and mobility.

Key characteristics of Thai massage include:

Acupressure points: The practitioner applies pressure along the body's energy lines (called "sen lines") using hands, open palms, finger tips, elbows, fists, knees and feet.

Stretching: Incorporating passive, active and PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) stretching, which increases flexibility, ROM (range of motion) and muscle strength.

Holistic approach: Thai massage addresses the body, mind, and spirit, focusing on balance and energy flow.

Key characteristics of sports massage include:

Muscle specific work: The practitioner focuses on muscles used in a specific sport or activity (e.g., hamstrings for runners, shoulders for swimmers).

Trigger point therapy: Targeted massage technique focused on identifying and releasing trigger points- tight, hypersensitive knots in muscle tissue that can cause localized pain or referred pain.

Myofascial techniques: Myofascial tissue is thin, strong connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles throughout the body. When fascia becomes restricted due to injury, inflammation, or repetitive stress, it can cause pain, limited movement, and postural imbalances. Releasing fascial tightness increases mobility and reduces pain by using sustained pressure, stretching and shearing movements to mobilize the tissue. Little to no lotion or oil is used for better traction and deeper engagement with the fascia.

Injury prevention & recovery: Aimed at minimizing the risk of injury, speeding up recovery, and reducing post-workout soreness.
